dipping rod according to Jens

Parameter to be measured:

discharge

Method:

depth-integrated velocity measurement

Equipment:

dipping rod, look-up table, calculator

Advantages:

  • no batteries, no electronics - completely resisitent to nuclear elecromagnetic pulses

Disadvantages:

  • insensitive to low velocities (this model: < 10 cm/s)
  • restricted immersion depth (this model: 60 cm)

What to watch out for:

  • weeds
  • collectors of ancient hydrometric devices

Problems/Questions:

Price:

Approximate price (in € or US$) with year and country of purchase
