Parameter to be measured:

Water level

Method:

Converts the water level (position of the floater) into binary code.

Equipment:

Shaft Encoder with integrated Data Logger for continuous level recording consisting of:

  • Shaft Encoder
  • Data Logger
  • floater
  • counterweight

Advantages:

  • Direct measurement of the water level (not temperature or pressure dependent)
  • relativly cheap
  • classical method of water level measurement
  • cable free data transfer
  • Event and continiuous data recording


Disadvantages:

  • fits only in 4' pipes or bigger
