Revision as of 08:19, 11 May 2010
Parameter to be measured:
Flow velocity (, discharge)
Method:
electromagnetic
Equipment:
- probe
- display unit
- wading rod
Advantages:
- direct display of velocity and its standard deviation
- sturdy design
- apparently insensitive to mechanical interference, sensor fouling, high sediment concentrations,...
Disadvantages:
- bulky display unit
- heavy rods with coarse scale
- (data storage not tested)
What to watch out for:
- irritated electric eels
