ADC

Parameter to be measured:

Flow velocity (, discharge)

Method:

electromagnetic

Equipment:

  • probe
  • display unit
  • wading rod

Advantages:

  • direct display of velocity and its standard deviation
  • sturdy design
  • apparently insensitive to mechanical interference, sensor fouling, high sediment concentrations,...

Disadvantages:

  • bulky display unit
  • heavy rods with coarse scale
  • (data storage not tested)

What to watch out for:

  • irritated electric eels
